On the 26 of September WIUU Rector Oleksander Romanovskiy, WIUU Vice-rector Julia Romanovska, Associate Rector Elaine Sarao and Paul Kervin, a former employee of the U. S. Embassy in Ukraine, visited newly appointed United States Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch. They also met Karen Robblee, the Counselor For Public Affairs, and Shari Bistransky, the First Secretary of Cultural and Educational Affairs, and discussed future partnership.
On the 23th September, we held the First International Seminar of Diamond Academy dedicated to “Innovative approaches in educational and professional activities” together with our partners: National University Lviv Polytechnic, Sumy National Agrarian University and Wisconsin International University (USA) Ukraine.
The seminar combined Universities Partners who use Diamond FMS in their disciplines.
The course “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship” is an innovative practical course, which will help students from the first year to see the possibilities of employment, which open to them after the graduation. It is particularly important in opening own business, as almost a half of our alumni or work in family business, or in 2-5 years open their own one.
Dmytro Vitaliyovych Klynovyi – PhD in Economics, senior researcher, leading specialist of “Institute of Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” told about entrepreneurship, its main features, functions and models, forms and methods, its organizations.
Hahihi Cyrus – PhD in Law (Criminology), holds a Bachelor Degree in Archeology. Having worked in these industries around the world (including China) H.Cyrus began to open startups. Nowadays he opened in Ukraine the agency for admission of students to study abroad «Maple Education». Dr. Cyrus told the students about the unlimited possibilities that are opened to them due to the fact that they speak English fluently.
In fact, at WIUU, every year is a year of English. We study in English, communicate with the faculty and students also in English (as among instructors, guest lecturers and students there are a lot of international people).
Together with many volunteers we are trying to help university and school students to get an opportunity to master their English with native speakers discussing very important issues in English, among them: Civil Society, Critical Thinking, Three Branches of the U.S. Government.
During the second half of September, 2016, WIUU is hosting a delegation from Washington D.C. (USA) – WIUU Associate Rector, Hon. Dr. ELAINE M. SARAO (Former FRANKLIN FELLOW at Office of Intellectual Property, Enforcement Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, U.S. Department of State, Washington, DC) and Mr. Paul Kervin. Both our guests have great international experience to share with colleagues and students.
During two weeks our young students will be enjoying meetings at schools and universities, interesting classes, seminars, conferences, discussions, interviews and individual consultations.

For many years already WIUU has cooperated with the scientists of state institution “Institute of Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”.
So today scientists of Comprehensive assessment and management of natural resources department took part in the round table “Civil society”.
Presentations were made to the students by:
Igor Kostyantynovich Bystryakov – Doctor of Economics, professor, Head of department;
Dmytro Vitaliyovych Klynovyi – PhD in Economics, leading researcher;
Igor Mykolayovych Lytsur – Doctor of Economics, professor, leading researcher;
Leonid Volodymyrovych Bondar – leading economist.
Today first year students began the practical course “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship”. It was held as a round table on “Civil society” and was attended by Elaine Sarao – Advisor to WIUU Rector for International Relations, Expert on Civil Society of at the U.S. Department of State (2010-2013), Paul Kervin, a former employee of the US Embassy in Ukraine, and scientists of state institution “Institute of Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.”
Particularly interesting was the speech of Paul Kervin. The students gladly joined the discussion and asked many questions.
WIUU freshmen are happy with their first event at WIUU. Students of all years, graduates, some of them together with their children, enjoyed their time together.
What could be better – fresh air, activities, entertainments, new friends!

On September 5, 2016 our freshmen got their first experience in fundamentals of International Business and Management, they visited one of the international transcontinental business giants – Coca-Cola Ukraine. It was a wonderful excursion, getting acquainted with operation systems, super modern technologies, highly qualified staff. Thank you, WIUU, for this great opportunity!
