The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) is a public, baccalaureate, coeducational institution and one of five statewide campuses of the University of Minnesota system. As a four-year, public university with an enrollment of more than 1,800 students, UMC proudly carries on a tradition of a century of educational service to Northwestern Minnesota. 

At the end of 2016, an Agreement was signed between the University of Minnesota Crookston (USA) and Concordia University Ukraine. ConcordiaUA students, faculty and staff participate in joint programs and exchange programs with our new partner.

Dual Bachelor`s Degree Programs with the University of Minnesota Crookston (USA)

Our bachelor degree students can take online parallel courses at the University of Minnesota throughout their degree program. Students can also continue full time study at Crookston University after the second-fourth year of education.

The cooperative program enables our bachelor degree students to study in an international environment and obtain knowledge and competences at both partner universities while receiving the benefits of:

  • an opportunity to earn three diplomas – Ukrainian State, International (FIBAA accreditation), Diploma of the University of Minnesota Crookston;
  • studying in an international environment and immersion in the advantages of entrepreneurship, technological and management innovations, international competences and skills;
  • being taught by highly qualified professors involved in international collaborative research projects;
  • no travel expenses and no visa necessary if studying online;
  • moderate tuition.

Having successfully studied 30 bachelor’s program courses at ConcordiaUA, students are required to take at least 10 courses (incl. the minimum of 5 courses within the final term) at the University of Minnesota Crookston, available online, on campus, or in a combination of both. 

First-year students can take 1-2 courses on-line from the University of Minnesota Crookston.

Tuition charges per year (10 subjects):

  • US $ 10,000 (on-campus)
  • US $ 11,500 (on-line).

Application deadlines:

  • Fall semester – June 1
  • Spring semester – November 1

Education at the University of Minnesota Crookston has three semesters per year:

  • Fall – August 
  • Winter – January
  • Summer – May.

At the U of M Crookston our curriculum is designed around experiential learning, which means we want you to have as much hands-on experience as possible. You’ll learn the concepts and then actively apply them. In athletics, Golden Eagles shake things up on the court, on the field, and even on the sidelines. The U of M Crookston competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) as well as the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and offers a full range of men’s and women’s athletic programs. Cheer on the home team with our mascot, Regal the Golden Eagle!

The U of M Crookston’s new Wellness Center not only is a great place for students to work out and have some important recreational time, it also supports the teaching and learning mission of the University by fostering student success. The facility also is used as a laboratory for the exercise science and wellness major, the sport and recreation management major, and coaching minor, providing numerous opportunities to gain valuable hands-on educational experiences.
