Day of Ukrainian Statehood

Today Ukraine celebrates the Day of Ukrainian Statehood. Ukrainian statehood has a thousand-year old history, as its starting point was the founding of Kyiv, the capital of Kyivan Rus and modern Ukraine. So it is symbolic that this holiday is celebrated precisely on July 28 – the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus.
For centuries, the people of Ukraine have been fighting for their statehood, keeping a strong connection with their distinct culture, traditions and Ukrainian identity. This struggle continues to this day. In the brutal war unleashed by the Russian Federation, Ukraine demonstrates its unity, indomitability, heroism and strength.
We thank our defenders, as well as everyone who supports Ukraine in its struggle for the right to be a free and independent European country.
