World Poetry Day, a holiday celebrated annually on 21 March, is set by UNESCO.
This year #ConcordiaUAPoetryDay begin with a poem by our student Anton Pryma:
The True Faithful
Sad, disheartened and broken on the outside
Running away from the consequences of reality
Couldn’t bear to live, but only feel like I have to hide
But I know that I will never be simply free
I tried to forget about you
Not sleeping day and night
But I realized that you keep coming to me out of the blue
Without any warning, you keep appearing in my sight
Saying constantly to myself that you will be alright
Yet, everything just seems to constantly go awry
You were the reason why the light in my day was bright
All I do is just await in the evening and sigh
Knowing that I couldn’t have done anything
However, I still feel that I was in the wrong
Even still, my memories just have to cling
And I still wish that I could bring you again along
In spite of that, this is the end of the road
I know for sure that you will forgive me
I’m thankful, for the ways you showed
Not giving up or allowing me to even flee
Thus far, I have been living,
Nonetheless, here is my final questions
Except everything feels so unforgiving,
Will you continue to show me the direction?
This is my final ode to you,
Forget about me as your memory doesn’t exist anymore,
And let me carry the torch to pass your story,
As your life serves as an example to us all,
To never let yourself fall,
As death is not our final goodbyes,
As I will be walking all night, until sunrise,
Murmuring my dear words, praying
My Sunshine, My True Faithful!
