Qualification Development Course for Educators “First psychological assistance to participants of the educational process during and after the end of military operations”

Learn psychological first aid and emotional support skills and techniques from international experts to apply during the training process. 1 ECTS credit is awarded.

Professional development course for teachers “First psychological aid to participants of the educational process during and after the end of military operations” was created by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with the Institute for Modernization of Education Content and the Association for Innovative and Digital Education with the participation of leading international experts in psychology – the head of the psychological service of Ariel University (Israel) Olga Bass-Linchuk and consultant on mental health and psychosocial support, trainer of the international short-session CETA program (Johns Hopkins University, a leading US educational institution in the field of clinical psychology), expert of the Community Suicide Prevention program (a project in cooperation with the Norwegian government) Yulia Zaharnytska.

This course is designed according to the blended learning model, which includes:

– 10 multimedia lessons in the international SCORM format,

– additional materials,

– practical training, during which Ukrainian educators will learn about psychological conditions, learn how to provide psychological first aid using Save the Children methodological manuals, as well as familiarize themselves with the recommendations for referrals of the Interagency Standing Committee.

The special course provides for the following tasks:

– To determine the peculiarities of the educational process during military operations;
– Identify the peculiarities of normative and legal support of the educational process under martial law;
– Understand the etiology of stress and their impact on the educational process;
– To be able to determine the manifestations of stress in a child;
– To master the tools of psychological support for internally displaced students;
– Develop skills in informal interaction with students;
– Learn to utilize distance learning platforms;
– Establish school-family collaboration during wartime.
