On November 16, 2024, on the eve of International Students’ Day, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, met with representatives of student self-government bodies from over 200 higher education institutions across Ukraine. The event, held under the slogan **”Strong Student Body — Strong Nation!”**, was organized by the Expert Council of Student Bodies of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine.
This event served as a platform for dialogue between the government and youth, who are shaping the country’s future intellectual and leadership potential. Representatives from our university actively participated in this significant initiative, addressing key issues concerning the student community.
The event was also attended by members of the Ukrainian government and the Verkhovna Rada. Among the distinguished participants were Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Korniyenko, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Olena Kovalska, Chair of the Subcommittee on Higher Education Yuliia Hryshyna, Minister of Youth and Sports Matvii Bidnyi, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi, and State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleksandr Yarema.
The President of Ukraine emphasized the importance of unity among Ukrainian youth, who today are not only acquiring knowledge but also contributing to strengthening the nation amid the challenges posed by the war. “The unity of Ukrainian youth is crucial for us. You are our foundation, our support,” stated Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to the development of education, the role of students in the country’s recovery, and improving mechanisms for supporting student initiatives. Attendees had the opportunity to share their ideas and proposals with the authorities, receiving feedback from top government officials.
