2025 Summer Program in EU Law and European Integration

Program Overview

The 2025 Summer Program in EU Law and European Integration is an advanced training program (210 hours / 7 ECTS credits) delivered fully online. It combines live webinars, interactive lectures, practical exercises, and independent study.

Program Duration:

May – August 2025

Total workload: 210 hours / 7 ECTS credits

  • Lectures: 100 hours
  • Practical sessions: 50 hours
  • Consultations: 20 hours
  • Independent study: 40 hours

Course Curriculum

The certificate program consists of four compulsory and one elective (specialized) course.

Mandatory Core Courses:

  1. History of EU Integration: Principles and Institutions
    Covers the foundations of political, economic, and legal integration of post-war Europe, development of key institutions (Commission, Council, Parliament, Court of Justice), and core principles such as supremacy, direct effect, and subsidiarity.
  2. The Four Freedoms: Goods, Services, Capital, and People
    Examines the internal market and the free movement of goods, services, people, and capital — essential pillars for trade, migration, and investment across the EU.
  3. EU Competition Law
    Focuses on market regulation, state aid, cartels, abuse of dominance, and merger control, as well as the role of EU and national competition authorities.
  4. EU Constitutional and Human Rights Law
    Explores the EU’s fundamental rights system under the Charter of Fundamental Rights and the ECHR, emphasizing non-discrimination, fair trial, data protection, and democratic freedoms.

Participation and Certification

Participation is free of charge (registration fee: €50 / €100).
Minimum group size – 10 participants; maximum – 250.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive an
International Certificate of Advanced Training — “Certificate in EU Law and European Integration (KIEI)” confirming the completion of 210 hours / 7 ECTS credits.
