Meet the new course from ConcordiaUA — European Business

The European Business course offers an in-depth analysis of the European business environment, going beyond standard theories of international management. The course focuses on the unique intersection of corporate strategy, supranational regulation, and political economy.
Within the course, students explore the so-called “European mosaic” — a complex economic landscape in which the integrated Single Market coexists with, and at times confronts, diverse national models of capitalism, ranging from Anglo-Saxon to Rhenish and Nordic social economies.
Students will examine how institutional frameworks — most notably the regulatory power of the European Union (the so-called “Brussels Effect”), the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), and the competition regime — function simultaneously as constraints and as drivers that create opportunities for greater efficiency and sustainable corporate development across Europe.
This course will be particularly valuable for students seeking a deeper understanding of how European business operates, the interaction between economics and politics, and the challenges and prospects of doing business within an integrated yet diverse European space.
