Anastasiia Kosharna, I year student, speciality “Management + BBA”. Anastasiia talks about her preferences outside of university:

«So, as we know, hobbies are the favourite activities of each person. They help to relax, feel good, and can make your day more interesting and enjoyable. As for my hobbies, I have plenty of them. I love singing, dancing, climbing rocks, acting, programming, playing Mafia, learning new languages, traveling…But now most of my free time I spend reading, drawing, and watching serials.

I would start with books. I prefer to read classical literature like Jane Austen, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Scott Fitzgerald. All of the definitions of “classics” are uncertain. However, I would say that these are books that are legendary from each genre. These are high-quality written stories with deep, thoughtful, and interesting plots. These stories never die. I also love reading because one single book can bring you to a different epoch, country, and even the world. They say that “a reader lives a thousand lives before he dies” and I agree with that.

As for the drawing, I have painted for a long period. 7 years, I guess. I have studied at two different art schools; in the second one, we were learning Academic Drawing. We always painted pictures on certain topics due to the strict schedule and I was not pleased with it. I love making art only when and where I decide to do it, so that was hard. As for the benefits, I have made great friends with some interesting people in the art school and I am so thankful for this possibility. We also took part in different international drawing competitions. Once I won a trip to Paris where I went with my friend from the art school and we even sold our painting in the auction. At France! That was one of those memories that lasted forever… I hope that I would continue drawing and developing my skills now even more.

Last but not least. Serials. Some people can say that watching a serial is not actually a hobby, but I disagree. At first, it is art. The art of cinematography. Secondly, I watch serials only in original without any translations and subtitles. I would say that this practice helped me a lot in improving my English language. My favourite shows are “How to get away with a murder”, “Peaky Blinders” and “Young Pope”.

To conclude, hobbies are an important part of our life. So if you do not have one, make sure you are looking for it!)»
