On Friday, June 4, students of the Ukrainian American University Concordia were lucky enough to take part in a forum organized by the Business Women Club. Sophomore Malysheva Polina, Valeria Shakun, Anna Serdyuk and freshman Maksim Malyuta represented the university at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Our task was to help in communication between English-speaking ambassadors of different countries and directly participants of the forum, who are native speakers of Ukrainian and communicate in their native language. For some students, this was the first experience of participating in such an event, while others received more experience and understanding in this kind of activity. Concordia students received a lot of emotions and inspiration, and more significant is the fact that now many are motivated precisely by the continuation of development in this direction. Of course, communication with people of this level, with business women and ambassadors, opened new doors of opportunities for young participants that will open for them with persistent striving and productive work on themselves and their knowledge.
Well, let’s listen to the participants of the event themselves, what impressions can they share with us?
Maxim Malyuta: «In my opinion, this forum in particular and the movement as a whole are facilitating a very important and socially significant discussion. I am very thankful for the opportunity to participate in such an event and meet so many outstanding personalities. It was a new, interesting, and memorable experience that I learned a lot from».
Valeria Shakun: «I am still impressed after visiting the business forum. It was my first experience of communicating with ambassadors and, in general, my first experience as an interpreter, but I got a lot of pleasure and inspiration. It was incredibly pleasant to hear with pride and respect how women in Ukraine achieve great success in business, politics and other spheres of activity, and how it is really difficult to reach all these goals on an equal basis with men. But the most important thing is that all these initiatives are supported and recognized at the international level, which simply cannot but command respect. I want to thank the university and the organizers of the forum for this opportunity, it was incredible!

Anna Serdyuk: «Wanna express my own opinion about today’s forum, which was on the role of “Women in International Politics and Diplomacy and the Successful Introduction of Business Women. Social Responsibility”. It was an unrealistically cool experience to take a part in such negotiation. People who took part in discussions, clearly knew the role of women in all industries. The main slogan of the conference was “Жінки можуть все!” There were a lot of diplomats at the meeting with whom it was very nice to talk and hear their opinions. Moreover, there were women at the meeting who knew their place, they are proud of themselves, they are self-sufficient and have achieved many goals. They also offered the so-called green book “Озеленення України”. A book that played a very big role. Thanks for all who made this conference, so unforgettable and fascinating».
Malysheva Polina: «It was always interesting for me to take part in this kind of events, I’m for development and always try to discover something new for myself. For the first time I took part in the activities of the “Business Women Club” in the month of May 2021. I was lucky enough to attend a business lunch where I acted as an interpreter for ambassadors. It was an amazing event for me and I realized that I want to move further with this club of successful women and improve myself in the direction of translation and communication. With regards to the forum, which we visited on June 4, I can only share the words of the guys, for they have noticed everything exactly. I am extremely grateful to the university, the organizers of this event, ambassadors and all the participants for the emotions and experience they gave me. At my nineteen years old, this is what many can only dream of. I have many goals to which I will go, no matter what. Right now, I feel that this is the beginning of realizing myself, that I am close to what is in my spirit and interest».
Well, you should never stand still. The key to success is constant upward movement and self-development. We can do anything, for this you just have to try and want it badly.
