Let’s find an inspiration

Halyna Bevzo, Ph.D., Head of the Department of General Studies:

“Today we are going to talk about how to find inspiration. This question is especially relevant in the last month of study – where to find the strength and finish all the things you have started. It is especially relevant when almost every night all regions of Ukraine are covered by air raid alerts.

Let’s start with ourselves – think about your own hobbies and interests and remember what activities bring you the most pleasure. Someone may pull out the long-abandoned knitting from the shelves and find balance and inner equilibrium in the process, while others will pull out their bikes and start planning a bike ride.

Speaking of traveling, new places, activities, and acquaintances will not only provide a way out of your comfort zone, but also add fresh impressions and help you recuperate. Or at least change your daily route, take a longer way home, go to the park on the next street – all this will add positive emotions.

But if you are an introvert, there is another good plan. Books – real, paper, new releases or classics – all immerse us in another reality and help us to distract ourselves. Personally, last year I added a complete edition of Sherlock Holmes stories to my library, and this year I’m collecting a series of Agatha Christie books from a particular publisher with beautiful artwork. I also keep an eye out for new releases, especially if you take into account the numerous reviews and feedback on these books. Perhaps everyone already knows that Prince Harry’s book “Spare” has been on sale since May 11.

If you are more of an author than a reader, write, it is also inspiring! Keep your own blog, social media page, or personal diary. Inspirational ideas can be a separate section – they will be recorded and you can always return to them in search of inspiration.

You can also try your hand at different types of art – try painting, clay modeling, or going on a photo hunt. By noticing and creating beauty around you, you can find a source of energy.

The most high-calorie tip – well, everything is clear here) Try to cook either your favorite home recipe or something completely new and uncharacteristic for everyday use. You can learn a new video recipe, ask your friends about their favorite dishes, or simply try a new kind of ice cream.

But sometimes all you need to be inspired is rest and recuperation. Choose a day when you have nothing planned, don’t even do household chores – just rest, sleep longer, try yoga or meditation (at least from a YouTube video). Restoring your body’s resources is a great source of inspiration.

The last tip for today goes well with the previous one. Try to live without gadgets/news/social media for at least one day. This kind of IT detox will get rid of negative thoughts and relieve your eyesight.

I wish everyone to be in the resource, as it is now fashionable to say.”
