The Ukrainian-American Concordia University announces the call for application into the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Program.
UACU provides postgraduate training leading to obtaining a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Economics (051 Economics / 05 Social and Behavioral Sciences) as specified by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 956-л dated September 05, 2019.
The main focus of the program is doing research in the field of economics and completing (submitting and defending) a doctoral dissertation. Proposed areas of specialization include natural resource and environmental protection economics, economics and enterprise management, etc.

This program combines different modes of study, e.g.: lectures are delivered online; exams and academic internship are set on campus; the format and mode of meetings (consultations) with the research supervisors are assigned by the latter; scientific internship involves participation in national and international conference at the expense of a degree seeker.
The language of instruction at the UACU is English in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” (Article 48), which means that course material is delivered in English only. Documentation and reports are written in Ukrainian; the language of publications and dissertations is either Ukrainian or English.
The standard duration of training on the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program is four years.
Ph.D. degree seekers are attested (assessed) in the form of a public doctoral dissertation defense.
The Ph.D. in Economics program lasts 4 years carries 40 credits ECTS (or 20 USA credits); it also includes individual consultations (meetings) with your research supervisor, the conduct of scientific research, publication of research articles, and completion of a research paper (dissertation).
The program is taught (the courses are studied) in the distance mode.
Elective education components (EECs) are designed to complement the core curriculum. Postgraduate students choose EECs based on their areas of interest during the course of the program. Postgraduate students can choose four EECs during their studies.
The EECs are studied throughout the entire period of study. The website contains general information on the EECs, while details of specific courses offered for the next semester are provided to postgraduate students on the Moodle e-learning platform. Postgraduate students receive recommendations on the EECs when they register for courses.
