Education Quality Assurance at UACU

The quality of education is a set of a large number of factors: qualified teachers, motivated students, professional partners, integration into the world space, a modern library, development of research, accreditation of programs, constant updating of computer and technical facilities, well equipped comfortable classrooms and labs, availability of high-quality Internet connection and WiFi, licensed software, etc .; ideally, it is the cooperation and connection of the following components: university – state – business, ideally an innovative model of development with the support of society and media.

UACU faculty and administration have been unanimous in their efforts to ensure the quality of education and academic integrity. For this purpose the Concept of internal quality assurance of higher education (https://www.concordia.edu.ua/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/kontsept-zabes-yakosti.pdf) and Regulations on internal quality assurance of education (https://www.concordia.edu.ua/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/polozh-zabes-yakosti.pdf) were developed.

To maintain high educational standards UACU is paying much attention to accreditation procedures applying and having all programs accredited from 2000 by the Ministry or Education and Science of Ukraine, by FIBAA – from 2012 (MBA) and 2014 (BBA).

UACU is a member of CHEA-CIQG from 2018.

Cooperation with our partner universities abroad gives us understanding of global development of the programs we are offering. Cooperation in Double Diploma programs and Mobility programs demands mutual recognition of credits, it means that we are working with our partners on curricula, course descriptions, syllabi, grading systems, faculty, resources etc., so that the programs meet mutual demands (University of Minnesota, Rutgers University, Concordia University Wisconsin, USA; University of Koblenz-Landau, Trier University, University of Applied Sciences Worms, Germany).

Partnership with Universities and organizations leads to UACU

  • resources development (UMN Open textbook library is available for our students and faculty. Now 839 textbooks for all courses of UACU Curricula can be used on a regular basis for classroom and individual work; students participating in programs use all the available resources of partner-universities)
  • human resources development – guest lecturers from UACU partners
  • internships improvement
  • career development etc.

The University structure and academic process organization enable UACU to constantly monitor education quality: Academic Senate, Dean’s Office, university departments, Academic Council, Supervisory Board, students leadership concentrate their efforts to ensure quality development of UACU.

To prevent cheating, plagiarism and fabrication Academic Office uses special approach during exams (Midterms and Finals). The students are not allowed to retake exams in case their performance was poor, they need to take the course again.

The University cooperates with Eyepass.tech company to monitor students independent working, especially during Midterms and Finals.

Students and faculty involvement in decision-making, as well as constant communication and interaction with all steak-holders facilitate positive dynamics of quality development. Regular questionnaires of students with further discussions and necessary changes, mutual faculty attendance of classes provides upgrading of the university processes.

For many years in a row, UACU has been ranked 4-5th in terms of the external evaluation score of contract applicants among all higher educational institutions (except medical) in Ukraine, which speaks of students’ motivation to study.

The fact that students study in English provides an organic immersion in the global education, resources, business and economic innovation community
