Library services

According to the law “On libraries and librarianship” and the Rules for users of the Ukrainian-American Concordia University (UACU), the Library provides students, faculty, and staff with the following basic Library services:

  • information on the availability of literature in the Library collections;
  • consulting assistance in the search and selection of information sources for preparation for classes, when writing Course Paper and Diploma for UACU students;
  • assistance in the preparation on selected topics for UACU instructors;
  • assistance in determining the indices of the UDK according to the own articles of UACU instructors and students;
  • the opportunity to receive for temporary use publications from the Library’s collections.

The UACU Library has a sufficient number of modern Ukrainian, American and other foreign textbooks, reference books, scientific, fiction, video and audio courses and periodicals. Students are offered an electronic catalog, magazines, reference books, encyclopedias and dictionaries of various profiles.

The UACU Library focuses on providing users with the opportunity to work with electronic resources (catalogs, search engines, web portals, repositories, databases) that are publicly available, provides online services (electronic references, document indexing, etc.), creates conditions for online events (video conferences, online clubs, webinars, training courses).

In addition, constant work is carried out on the formation and replenishment of an open access repository of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses written by UACU students, and scientific and methodological works of instructors (http://elib.uacu.edu.ua/).

Instructors note the recommended materials for students (including electronic resources and platforms) in the syllabus of the course.

In addition, links can be placed by instructors in the blocks of relevant topics on the course page in Moodle.

The UACU Library offers resources that allow you to use scientific and educational resources in the public domain (information is available on the library page in the section “Useful Links”).

Students can use additional reading rooms for self-study, which are located next to the Library. Reading rooms are designed for individual training or for group activities.

The working hours of the Library: Monday – Friday from 10-00 to 16-00.

Counseling of students, faculty and staff is possible online.

During martial law, the Library provides services and consultations remotely.

UACU students can use the resources provided by our partner – National Pedagogical University named after M.P. Dragomanov. UACU has access to SCOPUS and the WEB of Science database (https://npu.edu.ua/en/).
