Serhii Vakarin presented the 3-volume Legacy Ukraine Encyclopedia to the Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain to Ukraine Nicholas Harrocks. The Encyclopedia was published on the eve of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence. Its publication coincided with the 250th anniversary of the publication of the first Encyclopedia Britannica in 3 volumes.
Close cooperation between Ukraine and the UK has a long history. Back in 2000 Sergei Vakarin met with Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, and in 2023 with the retired minister and member of the Parliament of Great Britain, the world-famous researcher and philanthropist Brooks Newmark, one of the most loyal friends of Ukraine.
In 2023, Sergei Vakarin was among the organizers of the anniversary Fifth Forum of the Lord Slynn European Law Foundation, which was dedicated to the situation with impunity for the aggressors after the Russian attack on Ukraine. The Chairman of the Supreme Court and the Prosecutor General of Ukraine spoke at the Forum. Offline speakers included the Attorney General of Great Britain and the Chairman of the Slynn Foundation, and an introductory remarks were made by ex-Ambassador of the UK to Ukraine Simon Smith.
