Дар’я розповідає про свого улюбленого викладача англійської мови Аліну Нгобейю:

“When I entered Ukrainian-American Concordia University, I absolutely did not know what teachers I would have. Here I met with professionals in their fields, and one of them is English Composition teacher Alina Ngobeya.

We met teacher Alina in the first week of our studies at the university. I went into the audience, and met a beautiful girl with a charming smile. Then I understand that this is our teacher. The first seminar flowed so quickly and easily, then I realized that the connection turned out with our group and teacher.

The English Composition course program is not easy. We teach a lot of topics related to grammar, origins and construction. At school, I absolutely did not like these topics and they were given to me the most difficult, but at the university everything changed. Alina is so competent, simple, understandable explained each topic, each rule, and showed suitable examples.

Our group really very quickly “became friends” with  teacher Alina. It was as if at every seminar we were on the same wavelength, and because of this, all the material was very easy to remember. I gladly attended every English Composition lecture or turned on the Zoom with the smile.  I always knew that I would get knowledge and answers to my questions.

Moreover, I passed the Midterm and Final excellently. Of course, this is not only my merit but also Alina’s. I could always write to her on any question on any topic and always received clear answers that helped me a lot. We wrote a lot of practical papers and I also got great grades. I always got feedback from the teacher with an explanation if something was wrong.

Most of all I remember the seminar with presentations of various topics on the program. Everyone could choose, alone or in pairs, a topic that was interesting to him/her and tell others about it. For example, I had “Supporting sentences”. After each presentation, Alina expressed her opinion, said what was right and what was wrong. There was no prejudice or rudeness from her, she always went to our aid and always talked if we needed to change something, and also praised us a lot.

In concluding, working with teacher Alina brought me great pleasure. Everything worked so cool: the program, books, explanations and examples of the teacher, practical work. It helped me finished this course with an A grade. I am very grateful to Alina for sharing her knowledge and experience. She inspired me to learn English grammar. I really hope that Alina will be our teacher in the second semester.”
