To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team as part of our investment in Grammarly for Developers. Based on strong market demand, Grammarly is investing in its first developer platform, and growing the Business Development function is an integral first step. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and shaping strong relationships with ISVs, Enterprise, and Marketplace companies to reach new markets and enhance third party developers’ product offerings. They will help these organizations integrate Grammarly’s world-class AI-powered communication assistant through our new Text Editor software development kit. 

Your impact

As Business Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape Grammarly’s fast-growing ecosystem of third parties as they integrate Grammarly for Developers into their applications. You will jump into supporting new pipelines on day one. Based on those efforts and learnings, you will begin to work with the Head of Product for Partner Platform and others to inform the longer-term strategy, define repeatable go-to-market models in core segments, and shape the structure and processes of the sales organization. It will be an exciting first twenty-four months.

  • In your first thirty days, you will establish command over the product, understand existing Grammarly for Developer relationships, and familiarize yourself with key business development methodologies and positioning. 
  • By month three, you will take command over the Grammarly for Developers pipeline, sourcing from inbound demand, leading to new third party developers launching integrations of the Text Editor software development kit in their apps.
  • By month six, you will be fully ramped up in your role. You will have supported many new integration launches, defined and iterated on the Grammarly for Developer pitch, and worked with the Head of Platform Business Development and Product Marketing to define repeatable programs for new third party engagements.
  • By the end of year one, you will lead the creation of a significant share of the Grammarly for Developer pipeline, formed a perspective on the 1-2 year trajectory of the Grammarly for Developers ecosystem, and contributed to resourcing needs in Business Development and adjacent roles to support long term ecosystem growth.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Is able to collaborate in person 2 weeks per quarter, traveling if necessary to the hub where the team is based. Please note that our Kyiv hub is currently closed, and we hope the time comes soon when our team can meet again there. In the meantime, we will not require anyone living in Ukraine to travel for in-person time until it’s safe.
  • Has the ability to communicate the vision and value of Grammarly and Grammarly for Developers to a wide range of third parties, from small startups to large ISVs.
  • Is product-focused and comfortable evaluating applications, identifying valuable integration experiences for Grammarly and third parties, and pitching that integration experience to third parties.
  • Possesses a strong internal drive to achieve goals and a natural desire to track and monitor progress against them.
  • Demonstrates proactive discovery/diligence, account planning, consistent preparation, and objection handling with creative and confident solutions.
  • Leverages others as experts (e.g., Product, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) and is curious and creative about new testing approaches.
  • Is persistent and patient. Integration partnerships take time!
