Дар’я Крайник студентка І курсу спеціальності «Менеджмент» та міжнародної програми ВВА. Дар’я одержує студентську стипендію, тому навчається в університеті безкоштовно. Вона має неодмінну умову такої стипендії – шкільну золоту медаль:
«2020 was not an easy year, and for applicants it was twice as difficult. Graduation from school, exams, admission. The last item remained open to me throughout the year. For a whole year, I have been picking up and looking closely at which university I want to enter.
More than a year ago, in the summer of 2019, I looked through universities that have a good rating and one of them turned out to be Ukrainian-American Concordia University. Immediately my attention was attracted by the fact that this is an American university in Ukraine. Then I went to the site and started reading all the information about the institute. For a whole year I was in thought. Immediately after the end of my school exams, at my request, my mother called the Dean’s Office for more information. I was pleasantly shocked to learn that Concordia has FIBAA Accreditation and double diplomas, teaching in English, and student exchange. I decided that this is really the university where I want to study. I passed the interview and entered.
Unfortunately, my first acquaintance with the university took place online in connection with COVID-19, but I really wanted to get to know everyone personally, and I managed to do it the next day after the Freshman. Now I remember with joy all 4 months of study. I met new wonderful people. I made great friends and mentors. It is difficult for me to single out any teacher, since I am very grateful to everyone for the knowledge they gave me during the first semester. Initially, it was difficult to get involved in studies after the summer holidays, but our teachers told everything so interesting that for the first time I had a desire to study. I want to highlight the fact that the studying takes place in English. For me, it is a super cool practice and an opportunity to improve my knowledge. However, before admission, this fact was very alarming for me, since it was difficult for me to imagine that absolutely all subjects would be in a foreign language, but I quickly became involved. Now I feel that I have improved my level.
Moreover, I really like our program. It is really structured and informative. In the first semester, I had six subjects, but I want to highlight Business English, since this particular subject is one of the main subjects in my specialty. During the first semester, we went through 14 topics, passed the Midterm and the Final. All files, books, assignments, tests were on our platform, as well as practical assignments, such as a job interview or a company presentation. I have learned a lot of useful information, which will definitely come in handy in my further studies and work.
To sum up, I am very happy that I entered Ukrainian-American Concordia University. The first semester is a great indicator of university studies. I can safely say that I am happy with my choice. I recall our seminars and lectures with a smile on my face. I have learned and taught a lot during this period. I am sure the next semester will be more interesting.»
