Кредити мобільності в Університеті Корвіна

Сікорська Ірина, студентка 4 курсу освітньої програми “Менеджмент”:

“I would like to tell you about my experience of participating in the student academic mobility program. After a full-scale Russian invasion I had to move to Budapest, Hungary. I had already visited this city before, and studying in one of its universities had always attracted me. To be honest, I wanted to get my Master’s degree there. However, when I noticed that Corvinus University of Budapest was offering a free semester for Ukrainian refugees, I decided to apply. It became possible due to the ERASMUS+ program. First, I passed the exam to prove a high level of my knowledge of the English language. And only after that I was able to choose courses. I was enrolled for Tourism Management and Marketing, HR Management, Decision Techniques, Business Policy and Strategy, Organizational Theory and Behavior. I attended lectures, colloquiums, took part in seminars, group discussions, did practical tasks, and prepared projects. The studying process was organized offline, and it gave me an opportunity to visit a campus of the university and use all the facilities, such as a library, a canteen, a rest zone, an open terrace. Students do not only receive education there, they are also given a possibility to be engaged in different extracurricular activities. You can take a detailed look inside the university by means of the following video.

In addition, it is interesting to know how exams are taken at Corvinus University of Budapest. There are 3 ways:

  • usual written tests taken on campus;
  • open-book exams, at which students are allowed to use all the sources they have and apply their knowledge in real-life situations;
  • conducting a research and presenting its results.

Moreover, both practical and theoretical sides of education are of equal importance there. For example, regarding Tourism Management, we were able to visit several hotels and restaurants where the workshops were conducted specially for students.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Corvinus University of Budapest. I quickly adapted to the organization of studying in a foreign country; found it easy to communicate with other students, staff, professors. What is more, the program offered me academic credits which were then transferred to my home university.”
